Which is right for you?
Choose Formo if…
• You need wallet connects, signatures, and transactions autocaptured on web and React Native.
• You want onchain attribution that ties UTMs and referrals to wallet volume and revenue.
• You want wallet profiles with tokens, chains, DeFi positions, labels, and lifecycle stages.
Use both if…
• You roll out releases with Amplitude feature flags, and track wallets and transactions in Formo.
• You keep product teams in Amplitude charts and give growth teams crypto attribution in Formo.
• You export Amplitude data to a warehouse and query Formo data in SQL Explorer or the API.
Choose Amplitude if…
• You need feature and web experimentation in the same tool as your analytics.
• You want session replay and heatmaps in the same tool as your analytics.
• You want in-app guides and surveys to onboard users inside your product.
• You build a broad digital product with no wallet or onchain actions to track.

Formo vs Amplitude, in depth
Amplitude is a digital analytics suite; Formo is crypto analytics
Amplitude is a broad digital analytics platform. Amplitude combines product analytics, behavioral cohorts, session replay, heatmaps, feature flags, web and feature experimentation, and in-app guides and surveys. The Free plan includes 2 million events a month with no time limit, plus session replay and feature flags at limited volumes.
Formo makes a different bet: in a crypto app, the user is a wallet. Formo autocaptures wallet connects, chain switches, signatures, and transactions next to pageviews, UTMs, and referrals, with no track() calls to write. Each wallet gets a wallet profile, and revenue tracking connects volume and revenue to the source that brought the wallet in.
Amplitude can analyze wallet activity only after your engineers define and send it as custom events. Formo makes wallets the core data model across all major EVM chains and Solana, with product analytics, smart contract events, a SQL Explorer, and MCP built on that model.
Device IDs and user IDs vs wallet profiles
Amplitude identifies users with a device ID for anonymous activity and a user ID that your code sets after login. Amplitude merges the two under an internal Amplitude ID. A wallet address in Amplitude is a user ID or user property that your team sends, and multichain activity from one wallet needs custom events and identity rules.
Formo starts with an anonymous visitor ID in a first-party cookie and stitches that visitor to each wallet address the visitor connects, with no setUserId() call. One journey covers the first visit, the wallet connect, and every transaction after it, across all major EVM chains and Solana.
Formo wallet profiles add onchain context that Amplitude user profiles do not hold unless you import it: net worth, token holdings, DeFi positions, labels, onchain history, and a lifecycle stage (New, Returning, Power user, At Risk, Churned, or Resurrected). Teams can filter Formo funnels, retention, and segments by any of these properties.
Pricing model: event tiers vs MAUs
Amplitude prices by event volume. The Free plan includes 2 million events a month. The Plus plan starts at $0 for the first 2 million events and scales to 70 million events or 700,000 MTUs, priced by the Plus calculator on the Amplitude pricing page. Growth and Enterprise plans are event-based with custom quotes.
Formo bills by MAUs, which are unique wallet addresses with an active session. Growth is $199/month billed yearly ($249/month billed monthly) for up to 5,000 MAUs, and Scale is $399/month billed yearly ($499/month billed monthly) for up to 10,000 MAUs. Every Formo plan includes unlimited events and visitors, so wallet connects, signatures, and transactions add nothing to the bill.
Amplitude cost steps up with each event tier: the Plus calculator lists 3 million events at $94/month, 5 million at $281/month, and 10 million at $720/month. Formo cost does not change with events; the price changes only as monthly active wallets grow.
Attribution: channels and touch models vs onchain revenue
Amplitude marketing analytics groups sessions into channels and campaigns from UTMs and referrers. Amplitude Data Tables apply attribution models such as first touch, last touch, linear, U-shaped, J-shaped, participation, and data-driven to conversions and revenue metrics that your app sends. Each model uses a configurable lookback window.
Amplitude attribution stops at the events your app sends. A swap, deposit, or mint that settles onchain reaches Amplitude only if your frontend tracks it with a value. Amplitude has no native view of volume per wallet, revenue per wallet, or retention by wallet linked to the campaign that acquired it.
Formo marketing attribution and onchain attribution use first-touch and last-touch models. Formo captures UTMs, referrers, referral codes, and ad click IDs automatically, ties them to the wallets they brought in, then to the volume, revenue, and retention of those wallets. Growth teams can rank campaigns by onchain revenue without extra tracking code.
When Amplitude is the better choice
Amplitude is the better choice when your product has no wallet connects or onchain actions, such as a consumer, media, or SaaS app where custom events cover the core journey. Amplitude also fits teams that run feature and web experiments, in-app guides, and surveys from the same tool as their analytics.
Pick Amplitude when session replay and heatmaps are part of your UX review, when you need multi-touch models such as U-shaped or data-driven attribution, or when you stay under 2 million events a month and want a free plan. Early-stage startups that qualify for the Amplitude Startup Scholarship get one free year of the Growth plan.
Amplitude also suits companies that want one platform for analytics, experiments, and in-app messaging across many product lines and regions. Enterprises that need RBAC, custom data retention, and data access controls at very high event volumes can get those controls on Amplitude Enterprise, with pricing set by quote rather than by active wallets.
Running Amplitude and Formo together
Keep Amplitude for product analytics and experimentation workflows your team already uses, and use Formo for crypto product and marketing analytics, wallet intelligence, and revenue tracking. Run both during evaluation. Formo begins collecting new events after you install the SDK; historical Amplitude data will not transfer because the tools use different data models.

Add Formo next to Amplitude
Install the Formo SDK in the same app that runs the Amplitude Browser SDK or React Native SDK. The two do not conflict, so both collect events in parallel.
Rebuild only custom events
Formo autocaptures pageviews, UTMs, referrals, wallet connects, chain switches, signatures, and transactions. Recreate only your custom amplitude.track() events.
