Glossary: Page View

A single instance of a page or screen being loaded and viewed by a visitor.

A page view is recorded each time a page or screen loads for a visitor, whether that’s a landing page, docs page, or in-app screen. It’s one of the most basic units of web analytics, used to gauge how much content is being consumed.

Examples

  • A visitor loading a project’s homepage generates one page view.

  • Refreshing a page or navigating back to it counts as an additional page view.

  • A dApp with a single-page app architecture tracks page views as route changes rather than full reloads.

FAQs

Is a page view the same as a visit?

No. A single visit can include many page views if a visitor browses multiple pages.

Do page views count bots?

Raw page view counts often include bot traffic unless bot filtering is applied.

Why do page views matter for dApps?

They help teams see which pages or in-app screens attract the most attention before a wallet connects.
