Wallet Data APIs Compared

Key takeaways
We compared fields, limits, and pricing for 8 wallet data APIs. They split into three groups: portfolio APIs (Zerion, Moralis, Alchemy, GoldRush, DeBank Cloud), intelligence APIs (Nansen, Arkham), and profile APIs that add your own app's user data (Formo).
Only some APIs return DeFi positions. Alchemy's own migration guide says its Data APIs have no DeFi positions endpoint.
Labels and identity vary the most. Nansen and Arkham lead on entity labels; Formo returns ENS plus 16 other social and name fields; most portfolio APIs return no address labels, and some only resolve ENS names.
Sim by Dune shut down on August 1, 2026. If you used it, pick a replacement from this table.
Check auth, limits, and pricing early: published rate limits range from 3 requests per second on a free tier to 200 requests per second on paid plans. Listed paid plans range from $10 to $749 per month.
A wallet data API takes an address and returns facts about it: token balances, net worth, DeFi positions, labels, identity, and transaction history. This guide compares the fields, limits, and pricing of 8 providers. They differ most on DeFi coverage, labels, identity, and Solana support. Pick a portfolio API to show holdings, an intelligence API to research who a wallet is, and a profile API to personalize your own app.
How did we compare wallet data APIs?
We read each provider's public docs and pricing pages in November 2026 and recorded which fields a single wallet lookup can return. We did not test latency, data freshness, or accuracy. Where a doc page did not confirm a field, we mark it "No" and say so; we did not guess. Prices are dated and linked.
We checked seven criteria for each API:
Balances: token balances with USD values.
Net worth: a total USD value returned by the API, not summed by you.
DeFi positions: lending, staking, and liquidity positions by protocol.
Labels: entity or behavior labels on the address.
Identity: ENS and social accounts.
Transaction history: a list of past transactions or transfers.
Solana: support for Solana addresses.
Disclosure: Formo publishes this blog and its Profiles API appears in the comparison.
What fields does each wallet data API return?
Most wallet APIs return token balances, but coverage of DeFi positions, labels, and identity differs widely. The table shows what each provider's docs confirm as of November 2026. "Partial" means the field exists with limits explained below. "No" means the vendor's public docs did not show the field when we checked in November 2026.
API | Balances (USD) | Net worth | DeFi positions | Labels | Identity (ENS, socials) | Tx history | Solana |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Formo Profiles API | Yes | Yes | Yes (EVM) | Yes, 11 sources | ENS + 16 social fields | Partial (counts and dates) | Yes |
Zerion API | Yes | Yes | Yes, decoded | Yes | |||
Moralis | Yes | Yes (EVM) | Yes | Yes, decoded | Yes, separate Solana API | ||
Alchemy Portfolio APIs | Yes | No (sum it yourself) | No | No | No | Yes | |
GoldRush (Covalent) | Yes | No named field | Yes, decoded | Yes | |||
Nansen API | Yes | Yes, incl. premium Smart Money | ENS as a label | Yes | Yes | ||
Arkham API | Yes, entity-first | Entity names | Yes, transfers | ||||
DeBank Cloud | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | Yes |
Sources: Zerion, Moralis, Alchemy, GoldRush, Nansen, Arkham, DeBank Cloud, and Formo.
Cell notes, checked November 8, 2026: Zerion's Zapper migration guide says it does not resolve ENS or social profiles. GoldRush flags spam tokens with is_spam but has no address labels. Nansen's total_value_usd covers DeFi holdings, not the whole wallet. Arkham returns a totalBalance per chain. DeBank Cloud's chain reference does not name Solana.
How do auth, rate limits, and pricing compare?
Auth models fall into three types: an API key in a header, an API key in the URL, and pay-per-request with x402 or MPP (Machine Payments Protocol) and no key. Published rate limits range from 3 requests per second on a free tier to 200 requests per second on paid plans. All figures below come from vendor pages as of November 2026.
API | Auth | Published limits and pricing (as of Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|

Which portfolio APIs return balances, net worth, and DeFi positions?
Zerion, Moralis, and DeBank Cloud return balances, a net worth figure, and DeFi positions. Alchemy and GoldRush return strong balance and transfer data, but Alchemy lists no DeFi positions endpoint and GoldRush lists lending and staking state for Hyperliquid only. Choose a portfolio API when your main job is to show a user what they hold.
Zerion API. The Zerion API returns portfolio value by token and chain, DeFi positions (lending, staking, liquidity), decoded transactions, wallet and per-token PnL, and NFTs, across EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) chains and Solana. Its portfolio endpoint states that protocol positions are not yet supported for Solana addresses. Its pricing page lists 40 chains as of November 2026, and limits the DeFi positions, portfolio chart, and PnL endpoints to 25% of each plan's quota.
Moralis. The Moralis EVM Wallet API covers wallet history, token balances, net worth, PnL, swaps, approvals, DeFi protocols and positions, NFTs, and ENS lookup and reverse resolution, per its API reference. Solana has a separate Solana API with token balances and a portfolio endpoint. Moralis recommends that you turn on spam and liquidity filters for net worth, because they are off by default.
Alchemy Portfolio APIs. Alchemy's Tokens by Wallet endpoint returns native, ERC-20, and SPL balances with prices across Ethereum, Solana, and 30+ EVM chains. Alchemy's Sim migration guide (June 4, 2026) states it has no DeFi positions equivalent.
GoldRush. GoldRush, from Covalent, covers 100+ chains including Solana and Bitcoin. It returns balances with USD quotes, decoded transaction history, transfers, and NFT metadata, with an is_spam flag on tokens. It also resolves ENS, RNS, and Unstoppable Domains names to addresses.
DeBank Cloud. The DeBank Cloud user API is built for DeFi. It returns chain balances, used chains, and detailed protocol positions per chain or across all supported chains, refreshed in most cases within one minute.
Which wallet APIs return labels and identity?
Nansen and Arkham focus on who a wallet is: entity labels, behavior labels, related wallets, and counterparties. Formo returns labels from several sources plus ENS and social accounts. Moralis and GoldRush resolve ENS names. Most portfolio APIs return no labels. Use an intelligence API for research and compliance-style questions, and treat labels as evidence, not proof.
Nansen API. Nansen's Profiler endpoints cover current and historical balances, DEX trades, transactions, counterparties, related wallets, first funder, PnL, labels, and perp positions. Labels include ENS domains, behavior, DeFi, and CEX labels; premium labels such as Smart Money cost more. Supported chains include Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Base, and Tron. A separate Portfolio endpoint returns DeFi positions by protocol.
Arkham API. Arkham groups addresses into entities and calls its attribution "confidence-scored" and probabilistic, per its API guide. Its labeling guide marks lower-confidence labels as predictions. Its docs list balances, loan positions, transfers, swaps, counterparties, and token endpoints, with Solana support. API plans are set up by request, and agents can also pay per call with x402.
Formo Profiles API. Formo returns labels with a source field. Sources include Formo behavioral labels, Chainalysis, human.tech, Coinbase, Binance, Merkl, ERC-8004, LayerZero, Hop, Optimism, and labels you import. Identity fields include ENS, Farcaster, Lens, Basenames, X, GitHub, Discord, Telegram, email, and more.
What does the Formo Profiles API return?
The Formo Profiles API returns a wallet's net worth, transaction count, first and last onchain activity, identity fields, and, on request, tokens, DeFi apps, per-chain data, and labels. If your app runs the Formo SDK, the same response also includes sessions, lifecycle stage, first-touch and last-touch UTM data, device, location, revenue, and volume.
That last part is the main difference from portfolio APIs. A portfolio API tells you what a wallet holds. A profile API also tells you how that wallet behaves in your product: when it first came, from which campaign, and whether it is New, Power user, At Risk, or Churned.
Key facts:
Lookups accept an EVM address, a Solana address, or an ENS name.
expand=apps, chains, tokens, labelsadds optional sections. Each ofapps, chains, andtokensis capped at 50 items.A first-time lookup can return
202 Acceptedwithretry_afterwhile the profile builds.A search endpoint filters profiles in your project by labels, net worth, chain activity, and socials.
Formo's limits: the Profiles API does not return a full list of a wallet's past chain transactions. It returns counts and first and last activity dates. DeFi positions cover EVM chains only; Solana wallets return token balances only. Engagement fields are empty for wallets that never used your app. The API sits under /v0/, where Formo says breaking changes can land before /v1/. If you need decoded transaction history or NFTs, pair it with a portfolio API.
How do you call the Formo Profiles API?
You call the Formo Profiles API with an HTTP GET and a workspace API key that has the profiles:read scope. Handle the 202 response on first lookups by waiting retry_after seconds and calling again.
Create a workspace API key with

What happened to Sim by Dune?
Dune shut down its Sim API on August 1, 2026, after it disabled new signups on May 18, 2026. Dune said it would focus on its core data platform. Former Sim users can map balances, activity, transactions, and DeFi positions to the APIs in this guide.
According to Dune's announcement, enterprise customers were offered a prorated refund of prepaid time and introductions to Zerion, Codex, or Mobula. Alchemy, Allium, Moralis, and GoldRush published migration guides. Alchemy's guide lists no equivalent for Sim's DeFi positions endpoint; if you relied on it, look at Zerion, Moralis, DeBank Cloud, Nansen, Allium, or Formo (EVM only).
Which wallet data API is the best fit for your use case?
Match the API to the job. Portfolio apps need balances, DeFi positions, and history. Compliance and research need labels and counterparties. Growth teams need identity and in-app behavior joined to onchain data. Many products use two APIs: one for holdings and one for intelligence or profiles.
Use case | Strong fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
Portfolio tracker or wallet app | Zerion, Moralis, DeBank Cloud | Balances, net worth, DeFi positions, history |
Balances inside an existing node stack | Alchemy | Same vendor as RPC; EVM and Solana tokens |
Many chains, including Bitcoin | GoldRush | 100+ chains listed |
Counterparty research, Smart Money | Nansen | Labels, related wallets, PnL |
Investigations and entity mapping | Arkham | Entity-first, confidence-scored attribution |
Personalize your app by user value and lifecycle | Formo | Net worth, labels, socials, plus sessions, UTM, lifecycle |
AI agents without an account | Formo, Zerion, Nansen, GoldRush, Arkham | Pay per request with x402 (Formo and Zerion also MPP) |
To choose, follow these steps:
List the exact fields your feature reads.
Remove any provider that does not return a required field.
Check chain coverage for your users, especially Solana.
Estimate monthly calls and compare against published limits.
Test 20 to 50 real addresses from your users and compare results across two providers.
Frequently asked questions
What is a wallet data API?
A wallet data API is a service that takes a blockchain address and returns facts about it, such as token balances, USD net worth, DeFi positions, labels, identity, and transaction history. It saves you from running nodes, indexers, and price feeds yourself. Providers differ in which fields they return and which chains they cover.
Which wallet API returns DeFi positions?
As of November 2026, Zerion, Moralis, DeBank Cloud, Nansen, and Formo document DeFi position data. DeBank Cloud returns detailed positions per protocol. Formo returns USD balance per app on EVM chains. Arkham documents loan and borrow positions only. Alchemy's own migration guide says its Data APIs have no DeFi positions endpoint.
Which wallet API supports Solana?
Formo, Zerion, Alchemy, GoldRush, Nansen, and Arkham document Solana support, and Moralis offers a separate Solana API. Coverage per endpoint varies, so check that the specific field you need, such as DeFi positions or labels, is available for Solana addresses before you build.
What is the difference between a wallet data API and a wallet profile API?
A wallet data API returns what is onchain: holdings, positions, and transactions. A wallet profile API adds context about the person behind the wallet, such as identity, labels, and behavior. Formo's Profiles API also adds in-app data such as sessions, campaigns, and lifecycle stage when your app runs its SDK.
What replaced Sim by Dune?
Dune shut down Sim on August 1, 2026, and offered enterprise customers introductions to Zerion, Codex, or Mobula. Alchemy, Allium, Moralis, and GoldRush published migration guides. For DeFi positions, which Alchemy does not cover, consider Zerion, Moralis, DeBank Cloud, Nansen, Allium, or Formo.
Can I call a wallet API without an API key?
Yes, with some providers. Formo, Zerion, Nansen, GoldRush, and Arkham accept pay-per-request access through x402, where the client pays per call in stablecoins and needs no account. Formo charges 0.05 USDC per profile request through its x402 gateway, and 0.05 USDC.e through MPP, as of November 2026.
Are wallet labels reliable?
Labels are useful evidence, not proof. Arkham states that its attribution is probabilistic and confidence-scored, and it marks lower-confidence labels as predictions. Check each label's source, combine several signals, and avoid automated decisions that rest on a single label.
